This year marks the 70th anniversary of Elliot Lake became a town in 1955.
1955 was also the year that the polio vaccine was introduced in Canada.

The Rotary Club of Elliot Lake held its 20th Annual Red Briffett Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday September 14th. The sunny summer weather helped to make it another enjoyable day of golf for the 115 participants who attended the event this year.
