Bingo

  • We have been assigned one date, December 3rd.
 

Golf

  • Registration will be opening at 09:00.
  • Sponsor list is in excellent shape. 24-hole sponsors.
  • We also have garnered $500.00 in donations.
  • Two title sponsors.
  • 24 teams have registered, 16 have paid. (Cannot accept any more teams)
    • Received word that 10 more carts will be arriving on Thursday.
    • Can we then accept more teams?
    • Claire (caterer) has already placed order for food for the dinner. We will be limited to how many we can feed.
  • Concerns that some teams are “stacked”.
    • Possible solution is to have teams start as “8somes”.
  • Signs will be completed by Thursday. Will be picked up on Friday morning.
  • Volunteers
    • Needed for Friday evening, placing signs; setting up prize table, making gift bags.
    • Needed for Saturday:
      • Registration desk prior to 09:00
      • Faye watching hole #3 (OK Tire)
      • Shawn watching hole #15 (Foodland)
  • Putting competition
    • To be done on the bottom putting green.
    • 3 attempts for $10.00
  • Supper at 4 pm.
  • Presentations at approx. 5:00 to 5:30. 
  • Provide meals for the Briffetts.
  • Will be selling two Mulligans for $10.00.
  • Shirts: Still trying to get in contact with 108 Lifestyle and Sporting Goods.
  • The Standard has been in contact. They will be doing a preliminary piece in this week’s paper; as well as they will be doing a follow-up.
 
 

Hybrid Meetings

  • Masonic Lodge does not yet have Wifi but is installing.
  • George’s Restaurant has Wifi.
  • Motion to hold In-person meetings.
    • Motion passed.
  • Motion to hold In-person meetings at George’s Restaurant.
    • Motion defeated.
Therefore: In person meetings will be held at Heritage Hall.
 
  • Will need to come up with the ways and means of paying for Heritage Hall.
 
Chief Brent Bisaillon
  • Special guest speaker, Chief Brent Bisaillon of Serpent River First Nation, will be speaking at our first in-person meeting on September 28, 2021.
  • We will be gathering at Heritage Hall.
  • Start will be at 6 pm. Meal will be served at approximately 6:30 pm.
 

100 Elliot Lakers Who Care

  • We will need to begin working on this project as soon as the Golf tournament is completed.
 

Highway Clean-up

  • This Sunday September 26.
  • Meet-up at the No-Frills parking lot at 1 pm.
 

New Generations

  • District informed us that youth exchange is going ahead for the 2022-2023 year.
  • If we are to participate, we will need to start recruiting efforts.
  • Questions regarding if we can raise enough and get host families for this program? Will families be willing to host given COVID concerns?
  • Club would prefer to wait until the 2023-2024 exchange year to resume participation in this program.
 

World Polio Day

  • October 24th.
  • Good way to show that vaccines work.
  • Committee: Douglas, Kim, Gord. Work on an event.
 

Happy Dollars

Kim: Callum cooked his own meal.
Brenda: Conference in Timmins was a good time.
Wayne: Thanks to folks organizing the golf tournament.
